Kandla Grey Sandstone

Kandla Grey Sandstone is grey sandstone from India. It is also known by other names such as Bhilwara sandstone, and Silver sandstone. Though its color is mostly uniform it comes in two varieties- Light Kandla Grey and Dark kandla Grey. Because of its natural unique grey color and high durability it is popularly used for construction of paving and huge buildings such as monuments. Its hardness is attributed to the cementing of quartz grains with calcite and silica. Unlike other sandstones it is available in many different finishes such as polished, flamed, honed and sawn.
